Deenra Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use the Deenra app ("Deenra", "we", "us"). By using Deenra you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Deenra is (and isn't)

Deenra helps you check whether foods may be halal, spot allergens, and track calories and nutrition. It uses product databases, ingredient lists and AI to give guidance.

Deenra is not a religious ruling (fatwa). Our halal assessments are based on ingredient information and commonly held scholarly positions, adjusted to the settings you choose (such as madhab and meat standard). Scholars differ on many ingredients. When in doubt, look for a trusted halal certification or ask a qualified scholar.

Deenra is not medical or dietary advice. Calorie and nutrition estimates, especially from meal photos, are approximate. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making major changes to your diet.

Allergy warnings are a safety aid, not a guarantee. Ingredient data can be missing, outdated or wrong, and recipes change. If you have a food allergy, always read the product's own label and follow your doctor's advice. Never rely on Deenra alone to decide whether a food is safe for you.

2. Accuracy of information

Product information comes from third-party sources, including the crowd-sourced Open Food Facts database and AI analysis of photos you take. We work to make results accurate, but we can't guarantee that any product information, halal assessment, allergen warning, nutrition value or suggested alternative is complete, current or correct. Always check the actual product packaging.

3. Your use of the app

You agree to use Deenra only for lawful, personal purposes, and not to misuse it, interfere with it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to harm others. Only photograph food, drinks and product labels.

4. Subscriptions

Deenra offers a free version with a daily scan limit and an optional paid subscription, Deenra Pro.

• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID at the price shown before you confirm.
• If a free trial is offered, you won't be charged until it ends. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• We may change prices or features for future billing periods; Apple will notify you as required.

5. Intellectual property

The Deenra app, name, logo and design belong to us. Product data from Open Food Facts is available under the Open Database License. You may not copy or redistribute the app or its content except as the law allows.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Deenra is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from reliance on halal assessments, allergy warnings, nutrition estimates or product information shown in the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Deenra in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms, the app or its features. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app. You can stop using Deenra at any time by deleting it.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
